Commode scribanne (desk) XVIIIth century Vernis Martin / Chinese lacquer   Scribanne Commode opening to two drawers and a flap on the front, decor "au Chinois". Slightly curved facade, it has an eventful cross on three sides between 4 feet roll. The decor Vernis Martin (for European productions, also called Chinese lacquer for Oriental productions) depict scenes of landscapes, animals and characters. Red background decorated with koi scales. The flap lets discover 3 storage compartments and three small drawers shapely. Furniture of the first half of the eighteenth century Vernis Martin of the nineteenth period.   Length: 121 cm Height: 98 cm Depth: 55 cm

18th C Transition "sauteuse" commode, Grenoble

18th C Transition period "sauteuse" chest of drawers in marquetry from the Grenoble region.  Richly decorated with a bird pattern. Marble top. Gilt bronze decoration, handles and keyholes.  Although the wood, pattern of the marquetry and structure reminds one of the work of Jean Francois Hache, attribution is not certain. However we are certain that the  chest is exceptional and illustrates the talent of the best cabinet-makers of the Grenoble region.
