Rare 18th century Uzès cabinet Small cabinet of Uzès polychrome painted wood on three sides with black background.   Each of the two doors is decorated with three reserves fretwork decorated with landscapes animated waterfall and painted scenes of Italian inspiration. These cartridges are framed by foliage of flowers and foliage.   The frame of the cabinet takes this natural theme: flowers and foliage are represented in a wide range of colors.   The room is accented with touches of gold.   Monogrammed initials at the top center and stylized interlaced refers to the supposed function of the cabinet Uzes to host the brides trousseau.   The interior is lined with four shelves wallpaper as was customary on some existing cabinets Uzes, in red and gold occurrence.   Region of Uzes, Gard, Epoque late eighteenth century, early nineteenth. Rare piece.   Length: 103 cm Width: 44 cm Height: 176 cm

18th C Transition "sauteuse" commode, Grenoble

18th C Transition period "sauteuse" chest of drawers in marquetry from the Grenoble region.  Richly decorated with a bird pattern. Marble top. Gilt bronze decoration, handles and keyholes.  Although the wood, pattern of the marquetry and structure reminds one of the work of Jean Francois Hache, attribution is not certain. However we are certain that the  chest is exceptional and illustrates the talent of the best cabinet-makers of the Grenoble region.
